Executive Management Team
President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mike Burkland is a seasoned executive with a proven ability to drive growth, strategic focus and operational excellence at high growth technology companies. Mike has been CEO of Five9 since January 2008. Under Mike’s leadership, revenue has more than quadrupled, and Five9 has become one of the largest and fastest growing providers of cloud-based call center software. Five9 has received several prestigious industry awards, and recognition for revenue and growth performance. Prior to joining Five9, Mike was CEO of a handful of enterprise software and SaaS companies in market segments ranging from systems management and content management to security and CRM, and has led three private companies through successful acquisitions by larger public companies. Earlier in his career he held various positions at Oracle and BMC. He holds MBA and BA degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.
Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
Tom has served in the call center industry for over 15 years. Prior to joining Five9, Tom was Contact Center Operations Practice Leader for OneSource, focused on providing clients of all sizes with innovative technologies and processes to measure and improve customer satisfaction while reducing cost per call. Before OneSource, Tom founded Argent Voice Services, Inc., which hosted Interactive Voice Response systems for Fortune 1000 companies. Argent was later acquired by Phase 2 Solutions, Inc. a Call Center outsourcing company specializing in the cellular industry. As the CIO of Phase 2, Tom helped build the company from 200 agents to over 2,800 in two years. Phase 2 was then acquired by eTelecare Global Solutions, Inc. where Tom served as the Vice President of Telecom & Technology. In this role his team consolidated the two company infrastructures, and supplied critical new technologies, supporting the growth of the company from 5,000 to 15,000+ agents. Prior to Argent, Tom was co-founder of ASA Solutions, named a Dun & Bradstreet Top 100 Fastest Growing Company, providing Interactive Voice Response application development and staffing resources to Fortune 500 companies.
Senior Vice President, Enterprise Sales & Business Development
Dan is responsible for all sales and business development activities for the enterprise and mid-markets for Five9. He has a strong track-record and over 20 years of experience building successful sales organizations for contact center and other voice applications companies. Prior to Five 9, Dan was SVP of Sales at Transera Communications, an on-demand hosted contact center solution provider, where he and his team focused on enterprise and outsourcer sales. Before that, Dan ran world-wide sales for IP Unity, provider of carrier-hosted Unified Communications (UC) and conferencing solutions. Dan built and managed a world-wide sales team for direct and channels while growing the business 10-fold during his 4 years with the Company. Dan also held sales management positions at Cisco and GeoTel (prior to its acquisition by Cisco) focusing on their contact center applications and other VoIP solutions. He holds a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from California State University, Chico.
Chief Financial Officer
Barry has over thirty-five years of financial leadership in the technology industry. Barry was previously employed by SMART Modular Technologies, Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and played a significant role in the $635M transaction by Silver Lake Partners to take SMART private. Prior to that, Barry served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for VeriFone Holdings, Inc., managing the successful IPO and subsequent follow-on and debt offerings. He has also served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Iomega Corporation, Acuson Corporation, Mellanox Technologies Ltd. and Logitech S.A. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Natal, South Africa and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa).
Chief Marketing Officer
David has more than 25 years of relevant and impactful experience marketing enterprise and cloud software solutions across multi-billion dollar global technology companies as well as mid-size firms and start-ups.
Vice President of North American Sales
Homero Salinas has over six years of experience in the hosted call center industry. Prior to joining Five9, he led the sales efforts for Contactual, a competitor in the On-Demand call center business. Prior to entering the hosted technology industry, Salinas worked for 12 years as an investment advisor for such firms Lehman Brothers, UBS and Roth Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from California State University Long Beach. With proven experience selling on-demand call center solutions, Salinas brings more than 10 years of experience to the position, and will be responsible for managing and growing the sales force, as well as the pre-sales systems engineering organization.
David Van Everen
Vice President of Digital Marketing
With over 12 years of experience building and promoting world-class software products, David Van Everen is an innovator in bringing the power of cloud computing to contact center and customer service applications. Throughout his career, David has led product management, marketing and development teams spanning workforce optimization, call routing, multimedia and web interactions, CRM and ERP integrations, enterprise workflow, unified communications, and vertical solutions. With extensive call center expertise, Van Everen has also written numerous articles on industry topics and trends, and has co-authored five software patents. He holds a B.F.A. in Painting from California College of the Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Vice President of Product Management
Windy has over 15 years of experience in customer service management and contact center operations. She was a Director at Kelly Connect, where she was responsible for the overall operations and growth of the company’s largest accounts. Prior to that, she was the VP of Client Service Delivery for eTelecare Global Solutions, Inc., overseeing inbound wireless technical support and customer care programs. She successfully grew what would become eTelecare's largest wireless technical support and customer care program to 3,000 employees in nine contact centers across the U.S. and Philippines. Throughout her career, Windy has helped define technology solutions that enabled her call center organizations to outpace her competitors in cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
Vice President of Customer Success
Marissa Ramsey brings over 12 years of call center domain knowledge to this position. Prior to Five9, Ramsey worked at Contactual where she held leadership positions in sales engineering, professional services, account activations and technical support. Ramsey began her career in call center operations, where she opened, staffed and maintained blended call center environments servicing customers in the financial industry. Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University San Francisco. An experienced customer support professional, Ramsey is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the customer experience at Five9 including implementation, training, provisioning and customer support.
Todd C. Eby
Vice President of Professional Services
With over 15 years of call center consulting experience, Eby brings a wealth of industry knowledge and best practices to the Five9 Professional Services organization. Prior to joining Five9, Eby was Director of Product Development at Genesys Telecommunications, where he led the product management and development teams focused on next-generation and strategic solutions. Prior to his role in Product Development, Eby held multiple leadership positions in sales engineering and professional services. Eby began his career in call center operations, where he designed, implemented and maintained call center environments servicing customers in the financial services sector. Eby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Oakland University.
Vice President of Finance
As a Senior Financial Executive, David brings 20 years of experience and expertise to Five9, with a proven track record of delivering results, improving internal processes and ultimately increasing the bottom-line. David is responsible for all Finance and Accounting activities at Five9. Prior to joining Five9, David served as the Senior Director of Finance/Controller – North America at Solera Holdings, Inc. At Solera, he played a key role in both the acquisition of ADP’s Claims Service Division by Solera, and Solera Holding’s IPO. Prior to Solera, David served as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for Automatic Data Processing (ADP). Earlier in his career, David held the positions of Financial Analyst, Controller, CFO, and General Manger in the Financial Services, Construction, and Transportation Industries. David received a B.S. Degree in Finance from Brigham Young University

Eric began his career with one of the early Internet Service Providers, Netcom On-line, deploying and managing their Dial-up infrastructure.
Vice President of Release Engineering and QA
Mark Sigal, the former VP of Engineering at Zultys Technologies, has over 25 years of engineering management and software development experience. Prior to Zultys, Sigal worked for Zarak System (acquired by Spirent Communications) as the director of software development where he played an important leadership role in the architectural design and implementation of the Zarak's telephony testing equipment. Sigal began his career working in a variety of R&D and engineering positions in Russia. An experienced engineering professional, Sigal is responsible for overseeing the testing of new product releases and organizing engineering activities associated with rolling out new functionality in the Five9 Virtual Call Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Moscow, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Technical University, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
Vice President, Development
Dennis brings over 17 years of contact center industry experience, implementing enterprise applications and process optimization to many different solution providers. Before joining Five9, Dennis was the Director of Data & Analytics for Stream Global Services, leading an international team delivering Business Intelligence and process optimization applications in the outsourced contact center business. Prior to Stream Global Services, he led strategic initiatives implementing Workforce Management, Human Resources and Business Intelligence applications at eTelecare Global Solutions. Dennis co-founded Argent Voice Services, Inc., a call center outsourcing company serving Fortune 1000 companies, later acquired by Phase 2 Solutions where he created a competitive, highly differentiated CRM suite. He received his BS in Business Administration — Management Information Systems, from the University of Arizona.
